The computer case serves critical functions much as skin does for the human body. System cases protect the computer chassis, hard drive, motherboard, and other internal components for advanced blade servers, computer networks, or small desktop units. There are four types of computer case size; full-tower, mid-tower, mini-tower, and SFF(Small Factor Form).

Desktop and tower computers are two different styles of computer cases that use desk space in different ways. Desktop computers are designed to rest on the desk, while towers are upright. Most modern computers use one of three tower case sizes.
